Another day another 2-1. I can't complain but I just can't see how the Flames pulled it out last night. I guess they aren't as bad as we thought.
As always my record to date is below. Last month is looking respectable while I still have some work to do on the last week number. Hopefully after tonight that number will increase.
Yesterday | 2 | 1 | 0 | 66.7% | $0.03 |
Last Week | 10 | 13 | 0 | 43.5% | -$4.86 |
Last Month | 23 | 21 | 0 | 52.3% | -$2.64 |
Last 90 Days | 26 | 31 | 0 | 45.6% | -$14.65 |
Last Year | 381 | 348 | 14 | 52.3% | -$28.24 |
Lifetime | 1187 | 980 | 50 | 54.8% | -$59.44 |
On to the picks:
Baseball:
I know I said I'd stay away from baseball but I just can't lay off Verlander in a win or go home situation against a rookie where its virtually a pick'em (-111). You have to think Verlander has some October magic and Detroit wins.
CFB:
Rutgers (+19) @ Louisville: Louisville hasn't really been tested this year but that will change tonight. Rutgers have a decent offense ranked 23rd in points for. This will be an interesting game to watch and I see some value in taking the 19 points but not enough to bet it. Pass
Arizona (+6) @ USC: Look for USC to play inspired football a week after their head coach gets fired. USC should play a physical run heavy game and wear down Arizona's smaller defense. Lay the points with confidence.
NFL:
Giants (+7) @ Chicago OU (47): Everyone has an opinion on this game so I won't give you mine, however I'm teasing it four different ways to try and hit the middles. Let me explain. This is the type of game where either team could win by a close margin and the OU could go either way. I'm going to tease the Giants and the over; tease the Giants and the under. Tease the Bears with the over; tease the Bears with under. Let's see if I hit all four:
Giants (+14) over (40)
Giants (+14) under (54)
Bears (even) over (40)
Bears (even) under (54)
Predicted score: Giants 21 Bears 24
Hockey:
Colorado @ Boston (173): Colorado is overachieving and Boston Strong.
Columbus (-126) @ Buffalo: I don't like betting on road teams but Buffalo is horrible. Plus they are coming off a OT loss on Tuesday while the Blue Jackets are coming off a good OT win against the Islanders on Saturday, they will be well rested and ready to go.
Carolina @ Washington (-157): The Caps are a much better team then their record and/or point differential. Look for them to right the ship at home against a Carolina team that got destroyed by Pittsburgh.
Phoenix @ Detroit (-165): The Red Wings are just flat out better than the Coyotes.
San Jose @ Vancouver OU (5.5): The Sharks are scoring goals at will while Vancouver is +3. This will be a battle of two teams at the top of their division, look for a lot of scoring in this one.
Good luck all!
