Another stellar night! I went 3-0 and inched closer to 55% lifetime. I'm also showing a profit for the first time in a while. Main reason for this is that I put up $2.12 (of bonus cash) to win $2.00 on my parlay of the Hawks. (Seattle Seahawks and the Chicago Blackhawks). It was close, Seattle needed a goal-line stance, but a win is a win!
As you know the NBA season kicks off tonight with three marquee match-ups. We get to see the new look Orlando Magic invade a Granger-less Indiana team looking to pick up right where they left off last season. A determined Miami team hosting a Derrick Rose led Chicago team that is hellbent on proving that they deserve to be the top team in the east and finally Doc Rivers makes his coaching debut with his Clippers playing a Kobe-less Lakers.
The Pacers are giving 12 to a young and small Orlando team. Regardless of what Olidapo can bring off the bench, Orlando just isn't there and will be rebuilding for another year. Indiana is just too strong in positions 1-5 for Orlando to hang with. Look for the Pacers to make a statement at home tonight. They cover easily.
The Bulls Heat match up is must see TV with the anticipated return of Derrick Rose and the defending NBA champs. This game has red flags all over it so it's a no go except...I think there is some value in the 1st half under currently at 94.5. The reason I like the under is that this is no ordinary game. The Bulls certainly have it marked on their calendar and so do the Heat. There will be the ring ceremony before the game and the Bulls would like nothing more then to spoil the fun. I see both teams coming out nervous and a bit tight. Both teams will rely on their defense and like a heavyweight fight both will be a bit cagey in the first half. All adding up to a lot less than 94 points.
The Clippers are giving 9 to the Lakers which will be one of many entertaining games between these two in the coming seasons. The Lakers are in a tough spot not being able to keep Howard in free agency and Kobe is on the mend. I see the Lakers having no defensive answer for CP3 and Blake Griffin, not to mention the sharp shooting JJ Reddick. The Clips will spread the floor drawing Gassol to help with Griffin and Reddick as a result he will get abused by D Jordan down low. Defensively the Clipps are big and long and will stop anything from going inside. I like the Clips to cover as they send a message to the rest of the NBA that Lob City might be over but they are just as dangerous.
NHL:Jets @ Blues (-217): Here is classic mismatch of teams with the better one playing at home. The Blues will be well rested and looking to keep pace in the competitive west by taking care of business at home.
Since I'm following the 1-3-5 rule I need to trim down 4 bets into 3.
Observe:
2 team 5 point teaser:
Pacers (-7)Clippers (-4)
Bulls/Heat 1H under (94.5) (Bonus Cash)St Louis Blues (217)
Oh I'm increasing the amount I'm putting on each bet to $1.00
Good Luck All!
