Well went 2-0 yesterday and have Seattle at (+1.5) to cover my 4 team teaser. I'm feeling pretty good this week and would have jumped on the Sox last night but didn't get a chance to get to my computer last night...life happens.
My record so far...
Yesterday | 2 | 0 | 0 | 100.0% | $0.4 |
Last Week | 23 | 21 | 1 | 52.3% | -$1.18 |
Last Month | 77 | 67 | 1 | 53.5% | -$5.46 |
Last 90 Days | 85 | 80 | 1 | 51.5% | -$15.03 |
Last Year | 426 | 390 | 15 | 52.2% | -$27.77 |
Lifetime | 1246 | 1029 | 51 | 54.8% | -$59.82 |
As you know my goal with sports gambling and this blog is not to make money but to reach a lifetime record of 60%. In doing so I will need to get a certain amount of wins without any losses. Now of course there will be losses but the whole idea is to minimize the losses and maximize the wins. Yesterday was a good example of that, Saturday was not.
So how many wins do I need to get to 60%? Here's a clue, I will need 12 more wins, with NO losses, just to get to 55%
To get to 56% I will need 65 more wins with NO losses!
To get to 60% I will need 301 wins with NO losses!!!!
Now obviously this is impossible. There will be losses...I mean if I go on a 301 win streak someone please wake me up and then take me to Vegas.
The point to all of this is to become more disciplined and selective with my picks. The more I can knock off that 301 number the more disciplined and selective I will become. But how selective? I could certainly just make one pick a day and this time next year be at 60% but that just isn't practical and not a lot of fun.
In hopes to move the process along a little bit I'm instituting the 1-3-5 rule. Simply put, each day I am to make at least one, three, of five bets. I don't want to make two or four bets since breaking even is a wasted day. The hope is that there will be more than one, three, or five bets that I like and will trim them down to one, three, or five.
Moving forward with this strategy will certainly get me closer to 60% while forcing me to be a lot more selective in my bets. Again 25 bets (Saturdays fiasco) will not happen again!
So having said that here are my three bets for today:
The 4 team teaser counts as one since Seattle is playing tonight.
I parlayed Seattle's ML and the Blackhawks in the NHL and got (-106) The Blackhawks cannot lose two in a row. I really feel Saturday's loss woke them up and they will come out like gangbusters against the Wild, not to mention the revenge factor since they lost to the Wild on Saturday.
I'm also taking the Penguins @ Hurricanes (-167): The Penguins are on a 3 game losing streak and need to get out of their funk. A trip to Carolina is just what they need to get back on track. The Hurricanes are on a 2 game losing streak themselves and -8 in the difference department. Pittsburgh is too talented to be losing to these type of inferior teams often. They laid a stinker playing the Islanders and the hangover form that caused them to get beat in Toronto. Look for Sid the Kid to carry this team to victory Monday night.
Good luck all...
