Went 2-1 last night and since I've implemented the 1-3-5 system I've gone 12-4! With a $4.79 in winnings. So far so good.
Last nights loss came on the fact that the Warriors decided to not play any defense in the first quarter and CP3 playing unconscious. I thought the Warriors were committing to defense? I think betting unders with West teams might be a losing proposition. East teams are better at hitting unders. I can't believe I missed the under on the Nicks/Bulls game. That was easy money...I will do better next time.
The Picks...
NHL:
Columbus @ Pittsburgh (-199): These two teams are playing each other twice in two days. This is a classic situation where you take Pittsburgh tonight and if they lose you double down on them tomorrow night. I can't imagine them losing two straight to Columbus.
CFB:
USC @ Oregon St. (-3): Winning on the road is something USC has not done this year, unless you want to count Hawaii. Stanford may have given the blueprint but USC is no Stanford ranking behind them in almost every important category. Stanford has a more balanced offensive attack and has a better defense. The Beavers will be able to score a lot easier on USC and their defense only gives up an average of 22 points at home as opposed to almost 30 on the road. The line opened at 4.5 and quickly moved to 5 and stayed there until yesterday. This tells me the sharps jumped all over the Beavers and then the public kept betting it down by taking USC. I like going against the public and the cheap price on a favorite at home that is much better on the filed than on paper.
NBA:
Miami (-155) @ Brooklyn: Miami will be at full strength and looking to erase the memory of getting beat by the worst team in the NBA. They travel to Brooklyn where they will see some familiar faces. The Nets still have yet to figure out how to play together, and even though they are at home Miami will once again dominate defensively and exploit Brooklyn's age. Miami bounces back with the road win.
Toronto @ Atlanta (-3): The Raptors are coming into Atlanta after struggling with the probably the second worst team in the NBA the Boston Celtics. Atlanta will be playing in their home opener and even though they give up some size down low they have more skill than Toronto does 1-5. Look for Atlanta to play the inside outside game and win at home.
Milwaukee @ Boston under (187): I'm putting the system to test tonight. Both these teams struggle to score ranked towards the bottom but both are ranked in the top 10 in defense. I know the season is young but I think everyone would agree that these teams aren't going to find their offense before the new year.
Testing it tonight with the Bucs/Celtics under at (187)
Fading Houston:
Mark Cuban did me no favors by running is mouth about how D-Howard made the wrong choice. I have a feeling that Superman is going to be a little more motivated than usual tonight. No bet. In fact with Houston only giving 6.5 it might be an actual play to back the Rockets.
