Today's Line - Home Field Disadvantage

3-3 last night including two whiffs in baseball on the home team. So far in these playoffs every single home team has lost. Hopefully that continues today in the Rangers/Jays series and the Cubs/Cards series.

Even though I went 3-3 and lost $0.38 I'm psyched that I went 3-1 in hockey pushing my season record to 5-1. I know it's early but I'm off to a great start.

Percentages still look good and there is plenty of opportunity this weekend.

Today is all about value as I grabbed the Rangers with Cole Hamels starting. I think the Jays are in serious trouble after dropping the first game to the Rangers. I don't trust Stroman in his first start in the playoffs and I certainly don't like the way the rest of their rotation sets up. The Jays went 2-9 yesterday with RISP and I get the feeling that this is the beginning of a team slump at the very worst time. Finally if they lose today they are counting on Estrada to get game 3, which would make any Blue Jay fan nervous.

I also grabbed the Cubs with Lester at around even money. Lackey has been shaky at times and the Cubs are playing really really well. If Lester can give them 7 innings and the offense gets a couple I like the Cubbies to steal game 1 in St Louis.

I like the Dodgers tonight as well but not playing it as it's almost 2 to 1. But I feel Kershaw finally gets past his issue of laying eggs in the playoffs.

I might tarnish my hockey record with these two plays but again there is value in taking the Devils in their opener against the Jets who beat the Bruins last night. The Blue Jackets are facing the Rangers in their home opener and even though the Rangers have a better goalie the Jackets in my opinion are the better team.

Finally in tonight's CFB game NC State is on the road on a short week after getting exposed by Louisville. Virginia Tech is a poor man's Louisville in my opinion that can easily beat the frauds of the ACC at home.
