I don't sees any value in betting the Warriors. They are a 43% ATS this year and they seem to just miss covering by a point or two. I think the lines are inflated since the public loves them and I should start fading them.
Three takes...
I wonder if the Giants are regretting not resting their starters in week 17 and winning a meaningless game only to come out flat in Green Bay? Or maybe they are regretting the fact that they can't defend a hail marry, could they possibly be regretting that fact that they have an absolute clown as their number one WR?
I do think Pittsburgh put the AFC on notice with the run into the playoffs but let's not get carried away. They beat a Dolphins team with a backup QB that committed a ton of turnovers. Now they have to go on the road to play KC who had a week off and quite possibly has the best defense in the playoffs and presumably go on the road again to play the Pats. Enough said.
The Cavs certainly got better with the Korver trade and I expect totals to continue to go up in their games. I agree with LeBron they certainly need another PG and they should just grab one from free agency rather than spend another draft pick for one.
...and I'm out.
A note about the CFP...I like Clemson to win straight up for three reasons.
One is revenge. Clemson reminds me of the Bama team that beat Tebow's Gators when they were looking to repeat. That Bama team had revenge on their minds as soon as the lost the SEC championship and played like it all year destroying the Gators in the SEC Championship that year and going on to win the BCS beating Texas. Clemson has that same feel to it, they knew they'd be back and will relish another shot at Bams. I know we have been hearing about Bama's defense wanting to get revenge because of all the yards and points they gave up last year, but let's be honest, you think these kids care about stats that much? They won it all last year and they really weren't challenged once this year.
Second reason why I think Clemson gets the win is their receiving corps is so much better than it was a year ago where they threw for over 400 yards. Clemson will be able to throw the ball downfield more and this will only open up running opportunities for Watson.
Finally, I think Clemson's defense is much improved and will play with their hair on fire against a freshman QB. Couple that with a new OC and I see one too many mistakes/lost opportunities for Bama to get the win.
