Today's Line - Fight Night!

3-3 last night thanks to the Red Sox and some poor choices on overs. Not sure why I thought an over involving the A's or the Angels would come through as both of these teams remind me of Toronto's inept offense. I can't relay blame the Angels as they hung 7, it's the Tigers getting shutout by Shoemaker and company.

UFC 211

The main event for UFC 211 has current Heavyweight Champion, Stipe Miocic, defending his belt against former Heavyweight Champion, Junior Dos Santos. Both of these men are heavy hitters and this fight is unlikely to go the distance. The Heavyweight Championship belt has been harder to hold than a greased pig. Miocic has been the only champion in a while to have defended the belt successfully, and that has only been once. I think he will extend the streak, grease and all.

The co-main event for UFC 211 has the long time reigning and defending Strawweight Champion, Joanna Jedrzejczyk, fighting Jessica Andrade. Joanna is a sweet person out of the octagon and a killer in it. Jessica is a heavy-fisted brawler who used to fight at 135 but is on a tear in the strawweight division. This will be a fantastic fight.

Demian Maia versus Jorge Masvidal

The winner of this fight will be determined by whether the action goes to the ground or if it stays on the feet. Maia is the best ground fighter in the UFC, but does not have the striking skills of Masvidal.

Frankie Edgar versus Yair Rodriquez

Apologies to Max Holloway, but Frankie Edgar is currently the best fighter in the featherweight division not named Aldo. Yair Rodriquez has the ability to be a very exciting fighter the way Jose Aldo did in his prime.
